Jack Behr was first elected Public Defender for the First Judicial Circuit in 1976. He has been a resident of Pensacola most of his life and graduated from Pensacola High School. After graduating from Florida State University, he attended law school at the University of Alabama School of Law. Jack served as an Assistant State Attorney for four years prior to being elected Public Defender. He has served two terms as president of the Florida Public Defender Association. He is active in that association and currently serves on the Article V Revision Committee and the Appropriations Committee. He has served as a commissioner on the Judicial Administrative Commission and has served as a member of the Criminal Justice Information Council. |
